- I find the pcat book of flashcards really handy. usually you have to buy those thick books with only a few practice exams but this book is easy to transport and you can quiz yourself on the different pcat subjects. i actually take my copy to work (i'm a waitress) and between tables i go over a few of the questions. also the answers give great and thorough explanations. not only why it is the answer but also why the others are incorrect. great overall product!
- This book has hundreds of example questions to give you a feel of what the PCAT will be like. It is also helpful in brushing up on certain topics that you may have forgotten, since there are helpful, and detailed answers to the questions. I would definitely recommend this book of questions as a supplement to a review book. I did not use the CD but once, and it seemed to have many of the same questions that the book had, but computerized. It also had a quick review, sort of like a 'cheat sheet' of certain topics to look over. I would definitely recommend this book, since I did very very well on my first attempt and know it helped.
- You cannot go wrong with this book, I think it is an excellent resource for studying for the PCAT. There are a couple of errors in the text, but overall it is a priceless product. The CD was not really that helpful (it's just a re-hash of the text), but if you use that as a practice test prior to reading the book, and if you time yourself it's a decent resource. I highly recommend this book!
- This is a great way to study for the PCAT. Doing 10 problems from each section every day can really improve your ability to think quickly. I have seen a few errors here and there, but luckily they are obvious enough to seek out and have not yet led to a misunderstanding of the material.
- Worked well, probably bought too many review books for time had to study. This was least used based on other preferred resources.
- I loved the mobility of the book! You can easily study while on the go. The answer is one the back page behind the card with a semi detailed answer. The book is divided into four main sections and if you plan accordingly, you can study the whole book in time for your exam. However, when I went over the chemistry section, a lot of the stuff I had not gone over for years. The book didn't quite go into detail about how to solve or come to an answer. I was forced to look up a lot of my answers in my old chemistry books and online. I have not yet gone over any of the other sections besides chemistry and verbal but this was my experience with those two sections. I found it pointless to memorize the vocab words in the book because a lot of those words won't be on the exam from what I understand. It's better to understand words groups, prefixes, and suffixes, things like that versus just words. If you don't want anything too detailed, and you understand most of the concepts, then this book should suffice. If you are a little rusty in some areas especially the math and sciences, then perhaps a more detailed PCAT book will better suit your needs.
- This book is nice because it does not overwhelm you like the Kaplan one. The questions are a good review. The CD in the back has a nice review sheet but the "quiz" has the exact questions from the book. Also, the flashcards do not tear out of the book, you would have to cut them out if you were looking to review that way. There are two questions per page with the answers on the back. Overall I would recommend this to someone needing to review for the PCAT.
